Jaguar Swims Across River In Front Of Boat

This is the startling moment a jaguar swims across a river just a few metres in front of a motor boat.

The incredible moment was recorded by stunned tourists and the images were shared by the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (INGUAT). The exact location of incident is unclear with some reports claiming it took place on the Dulce river in Izabal, in eastern Guatemala but others suggesting it was actually recorded in Belize.

In the video, the motor boat can be seen making its way down a river when the jaguar’s head can be seen making its way across the water in front.

The driver of the boat then cuts out the engine as it approaches the jaguar and the big cat can be seen swimming towards the shore just a few metres from the camera.

The Director of INGUAT wrote on social media: “We received a video from a well-known tour operation in which a jaguar is seen swimming across the Dulce river but it was later confirmed that it was in Belize. We regret the mistake and will check the truth of the story. Sorry for the mistake.”

Netizens were stunned by the images, with ‘Sio Canty’ commenting: “The boat is way too close. Have some respect for these beautiful animals.
