Hungry Bear Allows Angler To Pet Its Head After He Spots It Eying Up His Catch

This is the moment a wild bear apparently refuses to steal an angler’s freshly caught fish and instead lets the fisherman stroke its head as it waits to be allowed a snack.

The fishy encounter took place in Kamchatka, Russia, and the video posted by Kamchatka State Budgetary Institution “Wildlife Protection Service” on 7th October.

The footage shows the large bear by a trailer filled with fish as the fisherman firmly tells it: “You can’t, you’ve already eaten.”

The animal pauses and appears to listen before removing its paw from the trailer and stepping back.

The fisherman promises to bring the bear something sweet later and the bear allows the man to stroke its head before it briefly places its left paw on the side of its mouth, as if asking to be fed.

The video was shared by the regional wildlife protection service on social media, with the bear’s behaviour being described as unusually calm and trusting for a wild animal in the region.

In recent months, there have been several reports of bears appearing near populated areas in Kamchatka.

Earlier this year, a bear attacked two people in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Leaving one woman seriously injured before the animal put down.
