Huge Pile Of Plastic Clogs Up Idyllic Countryside River

This footage shows a huge pile of discarded plastic and other rubbish clogging up a countryside river.

The startling scene was recorded by an onlooker at the Lugomir river near the city of Jagodina in the district of Pomoravlje in central Serbia after they spotted the huge pile of waste clogging up the waters.

In the video, the huge mass of plastic waste and tree branches can be seen standing still in the river as the waters run below it.

More plastic and other rubbish can be seen being brought into the pile by the river and the heap of waste stretches far down the river.

Local media report residents have been complaining for years about the smell of the river in the area, with some claiming drivers with their windows closed still struggle to breathe because of the stench.

The video was posted onto social media with the caption: “This is how the Lugomir was yesterday behind the cemetery. At least be a little diligent so we have something to leave our children.”

The clip has received over 60,000 views and netizens were disgusted by the scene, such as ‘Ljilja Gune’ who commented: “Terrible , there is nothing worse than us.”

While ‘Snezana Stankovic’ simply added: “A shame.”

And ‘Tanja Kostov Nikolic’ wrote: “Horrific, I have no words.”

‘Mira Djumic’ said: “People, is this possible?”
