This is the moment the makeshift scaffolding around a cardboard cut out of an Indian actor topples over, sending a group of fans plummeting to the ground.
The incident took place outside a cinema showing the actor’s latest blockbuster in the town of Thirukkoilur in the district of Villupuram located in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The popular 47-year-old actor Ajith Kumar is appearing in the new action film ‘Viswasam’ and several fans climbed the makeshift wooden scaffolding around the actor’s cut out, as seen in the footage.
In the video, a group of people are seen scaling the flimsy wooden structure erected around Ajith’s cut out to place a flowery necklace around the neck.
One man then starts pouring milk down the cut out’s face, considered an act of veneration, as several others are seen climbing up the scaffolding to get to the top.
However, the structure around the enormous cut out becomes unstable and the actor’s image is seen toppling forwards as the fans scramble to climb down.
Sadly, nobody was quick enough and they are seen falling from the structure as the huge cut out crashes to the ground.
According to local media, three people have been hospitalised after the accident.
It is unclear whether the incident is being investigated by the local authorities.
