This is the moment a baby’s arm becomes trapped in an opening lift door as panicked adults rush to try to free her from the painful ordeal.
The incident involved a woman who was with her infant daughter said to be just a few months old in a residential lift in the Dighi area of Pimpri-Chinchwad in the Indian state of Maharashtra on 7th March, with the images emerging on 14th March.
The CCTV video shows the lift stopping at a floor and the doors opening, snagging the little girl’s hand and forearm and leaving it trapped between the door and the lift wall.
The toddler is seen crying in pain as the woman and others inside the lift react in panic and begin trying to help.
People quickly gather and efforts are made to free the child’s hand. After several minutes of attempts, the child’s hand is successfully pulled free.
It is currently unclear if the unnamed infant suffered serious injury or was taken to hospital for a check up.
Authorities have urged people to exercise extreme caution when using lifts, especially when accompanied by young children.
