This is the moment a 20-year-old amusement park worker is struck by a moving giant swing known as a kamikaze ride and is crushed to the ground.

The incident took place at an amusement park in Hakimiyet Park, in the Hizirpasa neighbourhood of Amasya, a city in northern Turkey, on 6th June.
CCTV footage, which emerged 10 days after the incident, shows Burak Kirikci leaving the operator’s cabin and running down a set of steps as the ride continues operating.

It is believed he may have noticed that one of the passengers had dropped something and he went to retrieve it as he appeared to be bending down.
The young worker was then struck as he crossed the platform jsut as the swing returns and is completely swatted forward where he disappears under the device, suffering catrastrophic injuries.

Emergency medical crews and police officers were dispatched to the amusement park after the accident was reported.
Burak was taken by ambulance to Amasya Sabuncuoglu Serefeddin Training and Research Hospital with serious injuries.
Despite doctors’ efforts to save him, the 20-year-old later died in hospital.
His funeral was later held in his hometown of Bafra, in Turkey’s Samsun Province.
The amusement park was sealed off following the incident and both judicial and administrative investigations were launched.

As part of the investigation, amusement park owner F.C. and operations manager H.N.E. were detained by police.
After being questioned, both suspects were referred to court and were remanded in custody.
Investigators noted that Burak stepped directly into a restricted motion zone while the ride was actively swinging, which is strictly prohibited while the machinery is operating.
Authorities have not released further details on the findings of the investigation, which remains ongoing.
