Hilarious Moment Bear Does Baloo Dance Against Tree

Forest Rangers in Romania were so impressed at this bear’s impersonation of Baloo from The Jungle Book while rubbing himself against a tree that they posted the footage online together with music from the Disney classic.

The incident happened when the young Eurasian brown bear (Ursus arctos arctos) was caught by the monitoring cameras in Calimani National Park doing a credible impersonation of Baloo, the famous animated character from The Jungle Book.

The Calimani National Park where the footage was filmed is a protected area situated in Romania and located at the northern side of the Eastern Carpathians (Bistrita – Nasaud, Harghita, Mures and Suceava counties).

It covers 64,000 acres which are managed and controlled by the National Directorate of Forests – ROMSILVA.

Tormented by an itch that had become unbearable, the bear was then filmed Baloo-like as he scratched himself against a tree in the images captured in Calimani National Park by a monitoring camera installed by rangers.

According to Romsilva, the bears will often use trees or whatever is around to scratch themselves, but it is not often caught on camera.

In an interview with Real Press, ROMSILVA representatives said that the video was a great result for the wildlife monitoring cameras placed by ranger Cristin Cires.

The largest population of Europe’s brown bears is to be found in Romania with the latest statistics saying there were upwards of 6,000 after their breeding was encouraged by keen hunter and former Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu.
