This is the hellish moment raging floodwaters swallow a road in Turkey.
A bystander caught the moment the two-lane road in Sanliurfa Province collapsed into the murky torrent flowing underneath it.
The footage shows how the tarmac road, which connects Hilvan and Bozova districts, cracked and disappeared into the water in mere seconds.
The incident happened after heavy rains, which began to batter parts of Turkey on 14th March, caused the river flowing through Ordek village to overflow.
In Sanliurfa, not far from where the footage was filmed, 4.4 inches of rain fell per square metre (11 square feet) in just 24 hours.
The city saw a third of its annual rainfall in just two days.
The governor of Sanliurfa Province, Salih Ayhan, wrote online: “The heavy rain continues to affect the city.
“Due to possible overflow of streams and canals, citizens living in homes close to these areas should evacuate their homes.”
At the time of reporting, the floods had killed 12 in Sanliurfa Province and two in Adiyaman Province, while many remained unaccounted for.
At least five of those who lost their lives in Sanliurfa were Syrian nationals.
In the Tut district of Adiyaman, 5.4 inches of rain fell per square metre in just 24 hours.
