This is the moment a teenage girl escapes a burning house by jumping from an upper floor into the arms of villagers waiting below after a sudden fire trapped her and her twin sister inside.
The incident happened in Yinhua Village, Xiaoguan Township, Suiyang County, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, China, on 1st March.
Video shows villagers gathered outside a residential building that had caught fire as flames and smoke spread through the property.
According to reports, two 16-year-old twin sisters were trapped inside the house when the blaze broke out.
One of the villagers, identified as Luo Liangyong, reportedly assessed the situation and shouted to the girl on the second floor to jump as the fire intensified.
Footage shows the moment the teenager leaps from the building as Luo Liangyong and another villager, Liao Fei, position themselves below to catch her.
The pair manage to grab the girl mid-air, but the impact knocks Luo heavily to the ground, leaving him bleeding from the head.
Reports said Liao Fei then rushed to open a rolling shutter on the ground floor, allowing the second sister to escape from inside the building.
Emergency responders later extinguished the fire at the scene.
Authorities said the girl who jumped from the second floor suffered minor burns to her back, while her twin sister was rescued from the ground floor without serious injuries.
Luo Liangyong was later diagnosed with fractures to his thoracic vertebra and spine and remains in hospital receiving treatment.
He told local media he acted instinctively to save the girl, saying he shouted for her to jump because the flames were about to reach her.
