Halloween Spectacle At Iconic Wildlife Park As Animal Enjoy Carved Pumpkins

This is the moment animals at a zoo park are given carved pumpkins as treats as their enclosures are transformed into a Halloween wonderland.

The Halloween Festival at Pairi Daiza in Cambron-Casteau, Belgium, runs from 18th October to 2nd November, with the video showing the animals tucking into some tasty pumpkin lanterns.

Themed ‘The Garden of the 5 Wonders’, this year’s edition invites visitors to discover Halloween in a new light, with 60 per cent of the experiences completely reimagined.

A central feature is an artistic video mapping projected onto the historic Abbey tower, one of the park’s most recognisable landmarks.

During the festival, guests can experience five themed worlds celebrating animals, nature, human creativity, minerals and audience participation.

Animal caretakers prepare special seasonal enrichments for the park’s 7,500 residents, including pumpkins for elephants, hippos and gorillas, and meaty treats for carnivores.

Over 1,000 pumpkins have been displayed across the botanical park as decoration, as well as life-sized animal skeletons, including one of a giraffe.

The festival also features tales from local folklore, mystical sea monster projections and a new magic show with a “Stranger Things” twist.

Visitors are encouraged to participate by dressing up, building scarecrows, and joining interactive dance events.

The zoo also reassured: “No horror, no gruesome creatures, just enchanting, poetic chills designed to delight visitors of all ages!”
