A German girl has been hospitalised after collapsing when she was forced to eat a “red pill” by a stranger who threatened her mother.
The girl, identified only by her first name Melina, aged nine, said he had been approached by the stranger on Juri-Gagarin-Strasse in the town of Aschersleben in the Salzlandkreis district, in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.
Police said that the stranger had forced the girl to eat the pill by threatening her mother if she refused, and then as she was going to her parents home which is nearby, she had collapsed in the hallway.
Her mother found her there, and called the emergency doctor.
She was taken to hospital in an ambulance and recovered on the way.
The ambulance continued to hospital anyway where tests were carried out to try and identify what the substance was. Forensic experts were also on the scene to try and identify clues as to the identity of the man.
The girl said that the man had the red tablet in a plastic bag.
Police are now working with the child to try and create an image of the man to be shared with the local population.
She said it was about 50, and smells of smoke. He also had a gold piercing between his eyebrows.
