Giant panda realises that it may have been a tad too heavy for its chair as it gets flipped over on its back.
The footage, filmed by an unnamed zoogoer, shows the bear’s funny antics at its open enclosure in Tianjin, north-eastern China.
The video – which quickly went viral with over 400,000 views on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok – shows the giant panda chilling in the shade and trying to kick back in a bamboo chair.
But as it leans further back in the chair, it suddenly loses its balance and falls over on the ground.
Visitors burst into laughter as the confused animal tries to hold onto a concrete block, apparently forgetting it was only sitting a few inches off the ground.
The apparently embarrassed panda then sinks down behind the concrete, wanting to hide away from the zoogoers who are laughing at it.
Numerous netizens were apparently amused by the ‘incident’ and poked fun at the panda’s ashamed reaction.
Douyin user ‘girl love life’ commented: ” The reaction and movement of falling backward are exactly the same to those of people. It [The Giant Panda] is worthy of being a national treasure.”
Another user titled ‘Supplements’ wrote: “What kind of rotten chair is this, it doesn’t conform to bear ergonomics…”
And user ‘you are my life’ said: “If I was the panda, I wouldn’t show my face for the rest of the day.”
