El Chapos Henchman Found Dead In Prison Cell – Pictured

This image shows the former Ecuadorian Army captain – who was El Chapo’s contact in Ecuador – whose naked body has been found dead in his prison cell.

The murder happened in a prison in the city of Guayaquil in the Guayas province on the western coast of Ecuador where the former captain of the Ecuadorian army Telmo Castro was found naked and stabbed more than 15 times in his prison cell.

The prosecutor Carlos Bustamante Lindao told local media: “He had approximately more than 15 stab wounds in his thorax and head, he was naked and had his feet and hands tied up.”

According to Bustamente Lindao, the alleged murder weapon was found in the cell and another prisoner was accused of the murder while the prosecutor dismissed a fight between prisoners as the cause.

Reports said that the suspect has not made any declarations yet and the motive of the murder is unclear.

Castro was reportedly serving a 13-year sentence for being one of the main partners of the Sinaloa Cartel and Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman in Ecuador.

Reports claim the former army captain was arrested in 2009 accused of drug trafficking and he was released in August 2018.

Then in December 2018, he was arrested again as the Colombian drug-dealer Jorge Cifuentes reportedly gave testimony in the trial against Guzman in New York giving the name of Castro as one of the main contacts in Ecuador.

Cifuentes said during the judicial process that he had bribed the Ecuadorian army to smuggle drugs between the Colombian and the Ecuadorian border between 2007 and 2008.
