This is the moment a car suddenly rockets forward onto a pavement, ploughs into a pram and then slams into a man sitting on a chair before wedging itself between parked vehicles and a railing.

The footage was obtained from local CCTV in the Islambey neighbourhood of the district of Arnavutkoy, in the Turkish city of Istanbul, and shows the incident on 8th July.
The video shows the car surging along Mimar Sinan Street, striking the pram in the road before mounting the kerb and slamming into the seated pedestrian, who is thrown to the ground.

The driver is alleged to have hit the accelerator instead of the brake while attempting to manoeuvre, according to reports.
By a stroke of luck, both the child in the pram and the pedestrian who was thrown to the ground were unhurt.
