Dozens Of Hunting Dogs With Tumours In Dirty Kennels

This shocking footage shows an illegal kennel facility with dozens of dogs most probably used for hunting either tied up or caged and with many of them appearing to have injuries or even tumours.

The footage shows dogs tethered to trees on short leads, or cowering in kennels, and many with injuries, growths, and what animal rights foundation 30 Millions d’Amis (30 Million Friends) said were tumours on their bodies.

Arnauld Lhomme, an investigator for 30 Millions d’Amis, is quoted in French newspaper France Bleu as saying that some of the animals “didn’t even have any fur left.”

He added that some had “most likely been abandoned because they were not good enough at hunting.”

The incident took place somewhere in the south-western French department of the Dordogne.

In the footage, the owner of the property, who has not been named, can be seen standing next to the 30 Millions d’Amis worker, who tells him all the rules he has broken and that he has too many undeclared dogs.

The animal rights foundation 30 Millions d’Amis was able to take the most injured dogs, those most in need of treatment, to be cared for, but they had to leave some of them behind due to a lack of space, promising to come back for them later. They have also filed a complaint for abandonment.

This dog, according to 30 Millions d’Amis, appears to have large tumours around its lower underbelly

France Bleu report that the local hunting federation called the case an exception, deploring the “illegal”, “abnormal” and “inadmissible” situation, but 30 Millions d’Amis are eager to be given permission by the authorities to go back in and rescue the rest of the dogs.

It is unclear if the owner of the dogs has been charged at the time of writing.

30 Millions d’Amis have also recently released this other shocking footage showing a scared calf being thrown off a bridge in Corsica.
