Donald Trump Jr Roughs It In Tent On Mongolian Plains

The US President’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr has spent nine days living in a traditional Mongolian tent known as a yurt while visiting the Asian country’s vast grassland ecoregion.

Accompanied by his 10-year-old son Donald Trump III, the 41-year-old former reality television personality visited Mongolia’s westernmost aimag of Bayan-Olgii, the country’s only Muslim and Kazakh-majority region.

The two Trumps were guests of Zhandos Kontorbay, an ethnic Kazakh who hosts important guests mainly from the US and Europe and introduces them to life in the country’s grassland ecoregion, also known as the Mongolian-Manchurian steppe.

Kontorbay explained: “Foreigners come to me to avoid the hustle and bustle of city life. They enjoy learning about the nomadic life and vast expanses of the steppe, far from their mobile phones.

“Today, very few people live this, but Kazakhs and Mongols practice this way of life. Foreign politicians and celebrities have seen all the world’s luxury hotels and oceans.

“In Europe and America, it is not possible to hunt golden eagles, ride horses and live in a yurt.”

One of Trump Jr’s employees reportedly told him about Kontorbay and the services he provides.

Following the visit, Kontorbay said that Trump Jr was humble, well-mannered and down to earth.

The US President’s eldest son was also not afraid to get his hands dirty and even helped to repair the roof of a yurt, according to Kontorbay. He is also said to have eaten beshbarmak on his trip, the national dish of nomadic Turkish people in Central Asia and Russia which is comprised of boiled meat mixed with boiled noodles, and spiced with onion sauce.

Trump Jr posted photos of his adventure on social media, writing: “We covered many miles on horseback and 4WD.

“One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen and the scenery was actually outdone by the genuine warmth and kindness of the people.

“After such an amazing experience, I’m actually disappointed to be back on the grid.”
