Dad And Baby Run Over At Zebra Crossing At Resort

This is the moment a car runs over a father and his baby in a pushchair dragging the infant under the vehicle on a pedestrian crossing at a popular tourist resort.

Incredibly, nobody was badly hurt in the incident which was caught on CCTV cameras in the resort town of Budva on south-western Montenegro’s Adriatic coast.

The car appeared to hit the pair without slowing down and then run over their bodies before finally coming to a halt.

The father, a Dutchman whose name has not been released, was pushing his child over the zebra crossing when they were hit by the car.

He was initially knocked onto the bonnet but he and the tot rolled down onto the road where they were run over by the car.

The father is then seen getting to his feet and holding his hands up to his head in horror at the sight of his child lying in the road.

Fortunately, the tot received only minor injuries and has already been released from hospital after treatment. The father was not badly hurt.

Police arrested the motorist, a Russian woman whose name has also been withheld. She faces serious charges but has been released on bail.

Netizen ‘Jasna’ commented: “Terrifying, thank God nobody was seriously injured”, and ‘Srbin iz Ljubljane’ added: “Thank God for the happy ending. Angels were protecting the baby.”

Other online commentators criticised the driver including ‘Ajra’ who said: “She is definitely not normal… she did not stop until she ran over the pushchair.”

The historic city of Budva is the heart of an area, known as the Budva riviera, which is the centre of the Montenegrin tourism industry. It is famous for its well-preserved medieval walls, sandy beaches and diverse nightlife.
