She had been in her car in the municipality of Ixhuatlancillo in Vercacruz when an armed gang reportedly kidnapped her.
According to official sources, the authorities were told about her location thanks to an anonymous report and seven days after her kidnapping police officers went to the area and confirmed two tents were located there, one of them housed the doctor and the other was allegedly used by the kidnappers.

Prosecutors said that the gang fired shots at the police when they arrived at the scene but then fled.
In the video, the officers can be seen rescuing the female doctor, who can be heard crying. The armed officers give the woman a bulletproof vest and say “everything will be okay”.
Local media report the four kidnappers managed to escape the scene and the police are still looking for them.
The investigation is ongoing and the motives behind the kidnapping have not been reported.
