Cheeky Wild Boar Steals Tent From Campsite And Runs Off

This is the moment a huge wild boar on a campsite carves out every camper’s worst nightmare as he grabs a tent in his mouth and sprints away in front of shocked holidaymakers.

The incident occurred on a campsite on Ham Tin Beach in the town of Sai Kung on south-eastern Hong Kong and was recorded by an onlooker.

In the video, a huge wild boar can be seen running through the campsite when it runs towards a green tent.

Onlookers try to shout at the boar to scare it away but the animal responds by grabbing the tent in its mouth and running away with it.

The campers scream as the boar sprints away, dragging the tent along the sand before it dropping it. 

As onlookers approach, the boar then grabs the groundsheet and begins running away before dropping the plastic too and fleeing.

Local media report the Hong Kong authorities received 929 complaints or reports of wild boar sightings in 2018, 26 percent more than in 2017.

Seven people were reportedly injured in 2018 in incidents with wild boars.

The authorities are trying to contain the wild boar population by capturing the animals and sterilising them before releasing them into the wild.
