This is the moment a toll booth worker gets a shock when a cheeky monkey hops from the window of a vehicle into his station and robs him of over 50 GBP before escaping.
The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera at the Akbarpur toll booth outside the city of Kanpur in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

In the footage, the monkey is seen emerging from a paying motorist’s vehicle and climbing into the toll worker’s cabin.
The distracted cashier is initially shocked when he feels a monkey clambering over his back, but sees the funny side and serves the driver with a broad grin.
Meanwhile, the cheeky monkey makes a beeline for the cashier’s open till and quickly swipes a 5,000-INR (55-GBP) banknote.
It runs back to the driver’s vehicle, but appears to be spooked by the angry toll worker who jumps to his feet.
According to local media, toll workers ran after the fleeing monkey but were unable to catch it.

Meanwhile, the driver was accused by staff of training the monkey to steal, which he denied before leaving.
Assistant General Manager Manoj Sharma told local media that he has filed a complaint with the police and sent them a copy of the CCTV footage.
Sharma also believes that the monkey had been trained to steal and claims that it was the second time that it has happened at the toll booth.
