A stray cat who set up home in a university has been issued with her own ID card so she can wander into any lecture or class in the campus.
Students at Higher Oil School in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan say she moved in during 2022 when the university was still being built.
Officially named Agnia Aleksandrovna Neftyanskaya, the college’s original name, the cat has become a symbol of the university.
Now Agnia has been issued with her own student ID card complete with her photo and a paw print instead of a signature which gives her access all areas over the campus.
As well as her pass, students have made sure she has her own cosy room near a student dorm with a basket and plenty of food.

And on 24th January her classmates held a solemn swearing in ceremony for her.
The university said that issuing the document was not just a funny event, but a way to recognise the special contribution of the furry student to the life of the institution and her active participation in the educational process.
It added in a statement: “Her story is closely intertwined with the history of the university itself.
“Having first appeared on the construction site of the future academic building, she has become a true symbol of our university and an integral part of university life.
“With her usual dignity, she welcomes students and professors as if greeting them into the world of science and discovery.
“Her image adorns countless student photos, and stories of her adventures are passed down from generation to generation.
“Presenting a student ID to Agnia Aleksandrovna is not just a symbolic gesture.
“It is a recognition of her unique contribution to university life and her silent participation in the educational process.”

The honour comes after the Samara State Institute of Culture, in Samara Oblast, southern Russia, issued an ID pass to guide dog Snezhok so he could go to classes with his blind owner.
