These pictures show the efforts to rescue a lorry driver who wedged his vehicle between the crash barrier and cliff face on a mountain road after blindly following his sat nav.
According to local media, it took half a day for the emergency services to free the lorry from the narrow stretch of road.
Traffic was blocked for over six hours outside the town of Naefels in the mountainous Swiss canton of Glarus.
Reports said that the driver did not know the area and was relying on his sat nav for an appropriate route to his destination.
Even when he ended up on the narrow mountain road, he carried on driving until becoming wedged between the barrier and the cliff face.
According to local media, the container was disconnected and lifted from the scene by a crane which enabled the cab to be driven from the tight spot.
It is not the first time that a bungling driver has come a cropper in the area after blindly following their sat nav.
One year ago, the driver of a transit van ended up spooking cows in a field outside the nearby town of Flumserberg.
One amusing photo shows a cow watching the bungling driver unload the vehicle with a colleague.
Reports said that the driver followed his sat nav until the road ended and he found himself on farmland where the vehicle became stuck in the mud.
The fire brigade arrived on the scene and managed to push the van back onto the road.
