A British man has been charged with sexual abuse after allegedly grabbing an Australian woman’s backside at a Dubai bowling alley.
The incident reportedly occurred in September 2019 at a bowling alley at a luxury resort in the Palm Jumeirah artificial archipelago in the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Local media report a 32-year-old Australian woman, who has not been named, reported the case to police officers at the Al Barsha police station that the British man had “touched her backside” at the bowling alley as she was putting on her bowling shoes.
Reports state the unnamed suspect, who is 34-year-old, was then arrested and CCTV footage reportedly showed him inappropriately touching the woman.
The images, which have not been released, were reportedly used as evidence by prosecutors.
Local media report the Dubai Public Prosecution have charged the British man with “sexually abusing” the victim and the trial is set to continue on 28th January after an initial trial at the Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday (Sunday).
