His death is being investigated by the police after the young boy was rescued by firefighters but passed away after their resuscitation efforts proved to be in vain.

The young boy had reportedly been suffering from arrhythmia and from a learning difficulty.

His dad said of his son Luis that he was “a caring, loving, very affectionate boy. His life was to embrace everyone, without exception.”

Witnesses are reported as having told the police that the young boy was in the school swimming pool, which is 70 centimetres deep, when he suddenly sank. He was promptly rescued by a teacher and the fire brigade were called. They provided first aid and took him to hospital but he passed away.

The dad said that he was not aware that his son would be swimming that they, saying: “There are no messages on the agenda and, as we didn’t know, no bathing suits were sent.”

G1 report that the death certificate states that the young boy drowned but the police are investigating a hypothesis of sudden illness, having initially opened a case for suspicious death.
