This is the moment a cool Austrian cop clad in shades and a beret kicks the lid off a water bottle as part of the viral ‘bottle cap challenge’ and he says British actor Jason Statham inspired him.
The video shows a bottle of water being held up in front of an Austrian police van in the capital city Vienna.
A police officer then opens the sliding door and coolly walks towards the bottle.
Without hesitation, the karate cop spin-kicks the cap off the bottle before returning to the police van.
The officer in question was later identified as Viennese police cadet Hakan O.
He said: “I have been practising karate at a sports club since the age of six, before that my dad trained me.”
The police cadet was so good at karate that he even went on to become national champion.
He was quoted in local media as saying that he came up with the idea of making a ‘bottle cap challenge’ video after watching English film star Jason Statham’s viral version.
Hakan O. said: “I tried it and it worked first time.”
However, it took about 20 attempts until his colleague Dino K. managed to shoot the perfect video which was then shared on the Vienna police force’s Facebook page where it has already notched up almost 70,000 views.
Hakan O. is expected to become an official police inspector in March 2020.
The viral challenge started after taekwondo instructor Farabi Davletchin posted his skilled fly kick to social media.
Many international stars soon followed suit, including American singer Mariah Carey and Swedish football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
