BMW Borrowed By Diana For Secret Trysts With Lovers Put Up For Sale

A 1992 BMW 325i convertible that was once used by Princess Diana for secret trysts with her lovers has been put up for sale on eBay.

The car is listed in the United Kingdom, where the seller Position One Motor Company states that it was originally owned by Lady Annabel Goldsmith. And it is the one that was famously borrowed by Princess Diana for weekend drives.

The fact that it was driven by Diana is also repeated in a matching Gumtree advertisement for the vehicle.

The vehicle is currently listed for GBP 27,995.

Insiders confirm that Diana borrowed the BMW from Lady Annabel in 1992.

At the time Diana was seeing married art dealer Oliver Hoare and later had a relationship with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan.

They said it was knowing that she used the car for secret trysts simply because it meant she could avoid paparazzi as it was not one that was linked to her. As a result she could travel in it without being followed.

Princess Diana was well known for her fondness for stylish cars. She famously drove an Audi 80 Cabriolet in the early 1990s. As well as a Mercedes 500 SL, and a Jaguar XJ-SC Cabriolet, all of which were widely covered in the motoring and mainstream press.

Lady Annabel, the widow of Sir James Goldsmith, was described as a very close friend, confidante and mother figure to Diana.

She is now 91 and still alive.
