This is the moment an entire block of flats sing happy birthday to a woman on her 99th birthday after she could not attend her party due to the Coronavirus quarantine.
The heartwarming scenes were recorded on Altair Magalhaes’ 99th birthday in the Gracas area of the city of Recife in the northeastern Brazilian state of Pernambuco.
Her daughter Andreia told local media that her siblings and neighbours had organised a party for the OAP at the bottom of the block of flats where she lives but the birthday girl could not attend as she was in self-quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic.

The daughter says she left a cake for her mother outside her flat and then organised for friends and family to gather at the bottom of the building.
They then began singing happy birthday up to the grandmother, which caught the attention of neighbours and dozens of other residents went to their windows and balconies to join in.
In the video, Altair can be seen standing on her balcony on her birthday as dozens of people sing ‘happy birthday’ to her from the bottom of the building and their windows.
The 99-year-old said: “The security guard for the building called and told me to go out onto the balcony. When I got there there was a party. It was an extraordinary celebration. I thought nothing was going to happen on my birthday but then they organised this surprise for me.”
She said that after the party she received over 100 calls from neighbours calling her to wish her happy birthday, adding “there were people I don’t even know congratulating me, calling and saying it was a beautiful party.”
Her daughter told reporters: “It was a big surprise because she wasn’t expecting it. She is really loved and has lots of friends. It was very surprising.”
