A former Colombian beauty queen has revealed that she was told to go under the knife if she wanted to fulfil her dream of participating in the country’s National Beauty Contest.
TV presenter Violeta Bergonzi, 31, made the claim on the entertainment show ‘La Movida’ on the Colombian network RCN Television when she was asked “what is the most extreme thing you ever did for vanity?”
The pretty blonde revealed that it was her dream to participate in the country’s National Beauty Contest and that she was encouraged to undergo cosmetic surgery.
She said: “I was going for the National Beauty Contest and they said ‘girl, you are not going anywhere with that body’.
“It was not vanity, it was all ego. Because I wanted to be queen, I did everything they told me to operate on.”
Without going into further detail, Bergonzi admitted that some operations were “badly done” but said that her breasts “are quite nice, aren’t they?”
Violeta was born in France but moved to the city of Popayan in the south-western Colombian department of Cauca when she was 10 years old.
She regularly shares steamy snaps on Instagram where she boasts nearly 200,000 followers.
