Baby Crawls Across 1,000ft-Tall Glass Footbridge

This butterfly-inducing footage shows a fearless baby crawling across a glass bridge suspended over an almost 1,000-foot drop.

The adorable tot was filmed by its mother – not named in local media – during a visit to the Zhangjiajie Glass footpath, in South Central China’s Hunan Province.

She was apparently amazed when she placed her baby down on the glass floor and saw that instead of wailing in fear, the tot began wandering around on all fours.

In a video – shared later on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok – the baby looks straight into the 980-foot void beneath it without a care in the world.

Netizens admired the child’s fearlessness, with many saying they felt their legs turn to jelly at the scary sight.

Douyin user ‘mentally handicapped shelter’ commented: “I was scared to death when you zoomed out the camera lens, I thought the baby was falling.”

And netizen ‘4874453333853 Hongguoer’ write: “The ignorant are fearless!”

The skywalk bridge – spanning the canyon between two mountain cliffs – is a popular attraction in the city of Zhangjiajie.

The bridge is made up of three layers of tempered glass slabs two inches thick and is able to withstand the weight of 800 people.
