Amazing Recovery For American World Cup Skiing Ace After Horror Accident Left Her Looking Disfigured

These images show how American World Cup skiing ace Alice Merryweather has made a startling recovery after a horror accident left her looking bloodied and disfigured.

The top tier athlete has posted these selfies on social media just a few weeks after her accident and she appears to be making tremendous progress in her return to health.

The 24-year-old champion skier was left with her face covered in blood and severely swollen after a bad fall three weeks ago.

But she has been posting pictures on social media showing her progress and she said: “Thanks to the skin of the face for the quick healing. The masks were pretty uncomfortable for a while.”

The American skier has been documenting her recovery, regularly posting images of her face as it heals.

Merryweather was injured on 8th September while taking part in preparation for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing, set to take place from 4th to 20th February.

The accident took place in Saas Fee, a winter resort village in the Swiss Alps near the Italian border when she broke her tibia and fibula and seriously damaged her knee. She also injured her face.

It is unclear how long it will take for her to heal completely.
