Adorable Panda Siblings Wrestle In Snow And Up Tree

This footage shows two adorable pandas wrestling in the snow and fighting while up a tree.

Female giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) Xiao Xin and her playmate Lu Lu took full advantage of the year’s first snowfall at Foping Panda Valley in north-western China’s Shaanxi Province.

Video taken of their enclosure on 5th January shows the smaller Xiao Xin and larger Lu Lu play-fighting on the ground, biting one another and rolling around on the snow-covered grass.

The adorable scenes end with the pandas play-fighting up a tree.

The pair are both two years old, with Xiao Xin actually the older of the two despite her smaller stature.

The captive-bred bears have only been at Foping Panda Valley for about three weeks, having been transferred to Foping County for wildlife training on 16th December last year.

If successful, the training will see them learn how to forage and survive on their own, and may lead to one or both of them being reintroduced into the wild in the future.

Both are still classed as ‘subadult’, which refers to giant pandas between the ages of two – when they leave their mother – and five, when they are considered mature adults.
