The images show an adorable baby seal getting rescued by a group of good Samaritans after they found it stuck in a fishing port.
Passersby in Bremerhaven, Germany, were stunned upon spotting the several-day-old pup stuck near the port’s pier in the early hours of Wednesday, 12th June.
Unable to locate its mum, they immediately called the cops, who came to pick it up. They then brought it to a seal rescue centre in Norddeich, Lower Saxony state.
Bremerhaven Police spokesperson Kathrin Heimann said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “There was no sign of the little one’s mother. She had evidently been separated from her youngster.
“The police officers who were called to the scene quickly took care of the little howler.
“With the help of the responsible gamekeeper, the animal was safely captured, stowed away, and taken to the seal rescue centre.”
At the centre, vets confirmed that the 20-pound pup, dubbed Fluff, was in otherwise excellent health.
They reportedly plan to keep Fluff at the centre until it reaches at least 55 pounds, ensuring it’s ready to return to its natural habitat.
Heimann said: “There, the little seal can now grow big and strong and then hopefully quickly return to the wild.”
