This adorable baby elephant named Ben is so fond of the water zoo keepers are having a hard time getting him out.
Ben, who is five months old, is now old enough to enjoy the water in his enclosure at Leipzig Zoo in the city of Leipzig, Germany, and as this footage shows, he enjoys making a splash together with his adoptive mum Don Chung.
Zoo spokesperson Maria Saegebarth said: “Sometimes he really has to be forced out of the water.
“As soon as he goes out into the outdoor enclosure he heads off to the water.”
Already weighing in at 170 kilogrammes (375 lbs), Ben is making the most of the water to cool down as temperatures continue to rise.
A zoo spokesman confirmed they had spent weeks struggling to keep the baby alive after he was born at the end of January, and were delighted that he now seemed to be doing so well.
They said that when his adoptive mother Don Chung is not caring for him, he is also looked after by another female elephant called Rani.
He also had his adoptive mother to look after him as he recovered from an operation to fix an umbilical hernia that could only be carried out when he became stronger.
