Acrobat Falls 16 Feet From Hoop Onto Stage At Pop Gig

This is the moment an acrobat performing during a pop concert falls from a hoop 16 feet in the air onto the stage below.

The incident took place in the town of Grandas de Salime, in the northern Spanish region of Asturias, when the pop band Orquesta Panorama were performing.

The singers were sitting on the stairs of the stage, singing a cover of the song ‘Lo Siento’ (I’m Sorry) by Beret, as the acrobat was performing on a hoop raised five metres (16 feet) above the stage.

However, the young acrobat then falls from the hoop as she spins through it and a member of the audience can be heard saying “she fell, she fell”.

One of those on stage rushes to the fallen acrobat and the band then stop their performance when they notice what has happened.

Local media report the acrobat was injured and the show was cancelled for a few hours, until the arrival of ambulance and paramedics.

Reports state the singers asked people to let the ambulance arrive to the stage.

Eustaquio Revilla, the Mayor of Grandas de Salime, told local media: “The girl put out her hands (as she fell). She has a fractured wrist. In the end, it was not as serious as it appeared to be. People were shocked after seeing how she fell from a height.”

An ambulance carried the woman to the hospital where she was attended from her injuries.

The band sent a press statement saying that the acrobat, whose name has not been mentioned, is fine and they wished her “a speedy recovery”.
