35 EUR A Night For A Bed In Tiny Ibiza Utility Room

This utility room with a double bed crammed inside in Ibiza has been put up for rent on Airbnb at 35 EUR per night as thousands of Brits land on the island for the summer season.

The room in Ibiza, one of the Spanish Balearic Islands, has been posted for rent on Airbnb for 35 EUR (31.43 GBP) per night plus a 5-EUR (4.49-GBP) cleaning fee as locals seek to make as much money as possible during the summer season as thousands of Brits visit the island.

Photos show how the utility room has had a double bed squeezed into it, with a washing machine and a lamp at the foot of the bed.

The bed appears to be below a boiler and one of the reviews of the room says: “Small room as described, but very nice if you are just looking for the basics.”

The advertisement says that Wi-Fi, soap, use of the kitchen and a common area to work with laptops are included services with the room.

Local media report the advert is a sign of the problem with illegal tourist rentals on the island, as hosts renting different kinds of spaces without a tourist rental licence.

Reports state that tents on farms “surrounded by lemon trees”, teepees in the middle of a field, camper vans, caravans and other spaces are presented as “magical spaces where you can be in the middle of nature” and enjoy the authentic Ibiza.
