This 22-year-old woman filmed being stabbed nearly 10 times at her place of work and her ex-husband was arrested has died in hospital six days after the brutal attack.
The shocking incident was caught on CCTV at the hairdressers where the victim, identified as Regina Gagieva, worked in the city of Vladikavkaz in the Russian Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
In the video, the suspect, allegedly her ex-husband Vadim Tekhov, can be seen speaking to Gagieva, 22, in her place of work.
The pair appears to be arguing when the suspect apparently pulls a knife and begins ramming it into Gagieva’s body.
She tries to fight back but he wrestles her to the ground and begins hacking at her with the blade, with blood splattering all over the floor.
The suspect then runs away as the victim is left in a pool of her own blood.
After the attack, she was left fighting for her life at the Republican Clinical Hospital after her heart stopped three times.
However, she succumbed to her injuries six days after the shocking attack.
A police spokesperson said: “On 18th September at around 3pm, the suspect came to his ex-wife’s work and a conversation turned into a jealous row.
“The 31-year-old man stabbed Regina in the throat and chest area nearly 10 times.”
Tekhov disappeared after the alleged stabbing, but has since been detained.
According to local media, he was under house arrest and wearing a tracking device when he decided to visit his ex-wife.
The investigation into Gagieva’s death continues.
