A 13-year-old girl has become pregnant by a 10-year-old boy and her family wants to keep the minor’s baby with the pair having both reportedly set their marital status to ‘civil partnership’ on social media.
The young mum-to-be, who lives in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk in the north-central Russian region of Krasnoyarsk Krai, attends seventh grade while the 10-year-old is still in fourth, according to reports.
Local media said they have both set their marital status to ‘civil partnership’ on social media.
The girl, whose name is not disclosed for privacy reasons, is currently seven weeks pregnant and both the mum-to-be and her family are happy to welcome a new member to the family soon.
However, reports said the family is being probed by the local social services because the pregnant teen’s mother has terminal cancer and there are concerns over who will look after her three children, the pregnant 13-year-old and two boys aged five and three years.
According to a statement by the girl’s school, the situation is under control and they are doing everything they can to assist the pregnant student.
The mum-to-be has been described as a ‘difficult’ teenager who does not study well, bunks off school and carries out petty hooliganism, according to local media.
Some reports even speculated that the 10-year-old boy may not be the real father as it is believed the girl had other lovers around the same time.
Netizen ‘Vodila’ said: “Oh my, I did not even think of things like that when I was 10.”
‘SvyatoyValentin’ commented: “After Putin’s recent statement, I think school kids are trying to improve Russian demographics!”
